A Relaxed Food & Live Music Market at the Night Bazaar
Just off Chang Klan Road in the heart of the Night Bazaar district, Ploen Ruedee Night Market is a tightly packed, open-air food court built around one idea: good food, good music, and somewhere comfortable to enjoy both. Instead of rows of souvenir stalls, the layout centers on a large communal seating area ringed by food vendors, with a small stage where live performers play most evenings. It's a market built for lingering rather than rushing through.
The food lineup leans as international as Thai — Northern Thai standards and grilled street snacks alongside pizza, burgers, and Indian curries, with a noticeable number of vegetarian and vegan options throughout. A handful of bars anchor the center of the market, serving local craft beer and cocktails alongside fresh juices and Thai milk tea. It also runs as a "No Foam, No Plastic" operation, giving it a noticeably cleaner, more organized feel than some of the busier markets elsewhere in the city.
Note: the market has more recently been rebranded as Phaploen Market, though many travel sites and reviews still refer to it by its original name, Ploen Ruedee.
Visitor Info
- Location: Just off Chang Klan Road, an easy walk from the Chiang Mai Night Bazaar.
